New York Metro — Comms & Content for Frontier Tech

Dave Mosher

Strategic communications professional
I make science & technology make sense.

I thrive in the spaces around breakthroughs and their real-world impacts. Over my 20+ years in science and technology journalism and communications, I’ve helped frontier advances become stories people can understand and trust — from IBM Research’s progress in artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and semiconductors to space startup launches, crisis planning, live webcasts, and reporting for WIRED, Business Insider, Popular Science, and more.

Now

IBM Research

I'm part of a cross-functional communications team at IBM Research, the beating heart of organic innovation at a storied technology company. I focus primarily on quantum computing and AI, plus semiconductors and other emerging research areas, and frequently support announcements across IBM's infrastructure, software, finance, and international/geo comms teams.

Day to day, that means meeting with executive leadership, interviewing subject matter experts, developing media campaigns, drafting press releases, wrangling messaging and talk tracks, pitching journalists, routing queries, media-training research staff, setting up and scripting press briefings, executing high-stakes launches, and more.

I actively explore and incorporate AI into my own work — via IBM Bob, Claude, Copilot, ChatGPT, and other tools — to research faster, automate the routine, and free up my and my colleagues' time for more of the creative, strategic, and human-to-human work that drives success.
